Looking to broaden my career opportunities. I'm in accounting now and will finish an MBA program in June. I'd like to move into marketing, consulting, communications etc.
Has anyone ever gotten and MS in Marketing online?

Not connecting the dots to be honest. Broaden how with those mix of degrees? What are you looking to do as a change?

Couldn't you have just specialized in marketing in MBA school? What's the difference?

I would like to do marketing. But I've had no luck landing a job although have had a handful of promising interviews and have come up short handed/second best on all of them.
I feel as though my current title as "assistant controller" is holding me back and just seeing if anyone has any advice. Would an MS in Marketing help or not?

Just get a marketing degree if that's the direction you're choosing. Fine tuned degrees aren't that great. It's like I want to be a doctor who only sees clients with brown hair who have a stomach ache on a Wednesday at 2:35 PM, or you can have a general prac specialty and see multiple people a day. Same with a broad range degree versus a spec degree. Anyways just my two cents FWIW.
