At least we'll get another year of amazing production out of him at a cheap price rather than taking risk like injury this year. That could be the turning point in a playoff game compared to him just deciding to sit up on his money costing us down the road. Not that I think the playoffs are going to be in reach with this team but still...the point stands.

They have positives for us doing this but I feel like players get the better end of these deals than the organization. I like Armstead. He's done nothing but work hard and improve since he's been here. I'm not mad by the deal at all just saying I'm never a fan of doing this unless it's for a franchise QB. Would've been nice if Brees was worked on before Armstead then this deal might make more sense. Brees is going to molest this organization if he hits FA market next year. He's going to make second string nobody QBs getting paid 18 million a year laughable because the entire market will shift again for 1 player. Not that I'll complain about it because he deserves it but he needed to be priority here before Armstead. I guess maybe he's not willing to resign yet because he knows the $$$ opportunity ahead.
