I keep getting a error when trying to email you. Could you send me the Derby card PPs whenever you get a chance. I appreciate it.

I'll go with Rachel's daughter in the Oaks. Lani looks good for the Derby, but I was burned on a Dubai shipper last year.

if i got the best horse in the race and i know i got the best horse int he race i 100% want the 20th post position in a field with 19 other horses. you're guranteed to get a clear trip and if i got the best horse, that's all i need.

and from a betting perspective, the 20 post position always gets tossed out so you get value. I unloaded on american pharoah last year and i still can't believe he was 3 to 1 (post 18). should have been a legit 8/5.

any trainer that is bitching about having a post that's not the first or 2nd post, auto cross. they ain't got the horse.

if you're to the point where you're counting feet distance traveled between the 14 and the 18 spot you're grasping at straws.

Depends on the configuration of the track and the distance of the race. I don't want to be hung 8 wide around the turn even if I have Secretariat.

Yeah I learned to be skeptical of a big speed figure from Meydan.

I bet pretty simplistic when it comes to horse-racing. I'll bet the usual WIN, PLACE, AND/OR SHOW. Additionally, I'll sometimes try an EXACTA or TRIFECTA.

Admittedly, I'm pretty lost on horse racing this year.

I always like the Arkansas Derby winner, which was Creator in 2016.

Obviously, there's a horse like Nyquist, the morning-line favorite, from Uncle Mo's crop.

I really like Mor Spirit and Exaggerator, too.

Any help? Thoughts?

I'm a speed figure guy, but the Derby and the prep races leading up to it are so hard to handicap, because there's not much of a record to go by. I'm at a loss to pick a horse I like this year. I only bet WPS. I can pick winners pretty well, but I've never been able to pick the second and third horses with any consistency. I wish Songbird was running in the Oaks. She'd be a lock. I bet she'd have been competitive in the Derby.

Honestly I don't see why the UAE derby is a points race or win and your in. The horses from that race are awful in the Kentucky Derby every year.

Do you know who keeps Kentucky horse breeding going???

If you piss off the sheiks, the industry would go to shambles. They spend a ton of cash at the sales, and on breeding at their farms in Kentucky

Every year? I only know of 2 since 2009 that even ran. I think they both finished 8th, but I agree Lani is a pig.

That is the case, but I have to lose $2 on him thanks to my love of Sunday Silence

Don't know. I'm probably not going to spend a bunch this year. It's so wide open, I hate it. BTW, I am going to send you a couple things in a minute for your viewing pleasure.

I had Weep No More when she won the Ashland at 30/1 so will stay on her here.Seems like another race with speed to set up her late run.
My bet 2/3,4,11,12 and 3,4,11,12/2 exacta bet.

Right now I'm probably just going to go weep no more, Valentina, Maggie.

I love a flashy chestnut with white. Extra points for a flaxen tail. I, however, did not bet the Ashland, not did I have her on my radar. I was wearing Rachel colored glasses like the fangirl I am.

Just wish Valentina wasn't a bernardini :-/

pretty much discreet cat lol. discreet cat could have won the 2006 kentucky derby running backwards had he run. probably the biggest what could have been i can think of in horse racing. Goldphin puts too much money in racing and sooner or later they're gonna get another Discreet Cat and they are gonna want to run him at UAE than the derby

the thing about the UAE derby is that half the horses, and most the good ones, are southern hemisphere 3 year olds which means they are too old to run in the derby. Asiatic Boy, Musir were good enough to do real damage in KY but they were from south africa / South America

if you go take points away from UAE you got to do the same for Louisiana Derby it's not like that race has produced jack shite in the last 15 years, since Peace Rules at least. shots fired lol.
