I've never had much luck fishing St. John during the day. If there is the slightest bit of wind it will be white capping. But right after dark when the wind lays the striped bass fishing turns on on the back side of the lake. Just cruise up to lights and see them schooling after the bait fish. Throw a white crank bait and get ready for the fight of your life. Make sure you troll up to them the last hundred yards. It's a blast.
