Only a few of those were particular to female reporters at all. Most were typical mean spirited Twitter online posts that target anybody famous. A little overdramatic IMO.

Sure it's awful stuff. But people are mean to everyone on the internet.

Seems liek equality to me.

Words matter and all, and those tweets sucked...but I find that video stupid for two reasons:

1. Those men were super beta
2. apparently no one can laugh off even the worst insults and threats anymore

I learned, once again, we are a very weak minded generation.

After watching all of it, did they ask the guys if the self describe as SJW's before letting them participate?

It's still not exactly "right" but people saying means things to an anonymous screenname on a message board is different than saying it to a person's identifiable Twitter handle, even if they are both online

We all know I've been guilty as hell at playing the meangirl on here from time to time...but damn...telling someone they should be raped again? Wishing the death of their pets on them? Wishing for them to be beaten by their SOs? Yeah...that just crosses a line altogether imo...whether it's anonymous screennames or on someone's identifiable social media.

I have a fairly tough skin on here...but I don't think I could handle being in the public eye like those reporters and other female celebrities nowadays. Reading comments like those read in the video over and over....yeah that would certainly get to me at some point.

If trolls are targeting women they make rape jokes,etc...if they target men they call them a fig or accuse them of having a small dick. When did we become so weak minded...get over it.

Is it too much to ask just for everyone to be a little bit nicer to everyone? Geesh.

What's troubling is some of the comments in this thread. Many don't seem to think anything wrong with those comments in the video.

I'm curious what they consider "crossing the line".

My issue is that men are mean to women on the internet.

You know what...they are mean to men too.

And women are mean to women

Women are mean to men

It's really what the internet is based on.

No, not really. That's a sad commentary though.

Nah I can just see through the BS here. It's a subtle attack on freedom of speech in the name of hurt feelings by social justice warriors.

A ton of people seemed to have missed the point of the video, or at least didn't get what I did out of it.

I'm sure most of these people would laugh at the shite that was said if it was written on the internet, too.. or at least blow it off. But the impact of words often gets lost in text, particularly on the internet. Most of those people on the internet saying those things could never say that in person, to that person's face. How many of you could look that woman in the eyes and tell her you hope she gets raped again? Why would it ever be okay to say that to someone, how could that even be a joke? Or would you ever tell someone that you hope she gets hit with a hockey puck and dies? Why would someone even joke about that? No rational person could or would do that in person, so why do so many people do/say it on the internet?

Free speech?! I think it is more about common decency.

No one is saying the government should censor these comments, but free speech doesn't mean people can't think you are a complete and utter a-hole for the things you say (or type).

Just to clarify I am not DEFENDING the actual comments. I am ATTACKING the overwrought reaction to those comments.

The world is full of dicks. Dicks have always been EVERYWHERE throughout human history flopping and flailing around looking for some way to be noticed and gain relevance.

Then along came this global open access medium called the internet that allowed the dicks to be dicks. So when someone logs on to the internet and reads things dicks say and lets it penetrate their feelings, that makes them vaginas. Dicks will be dicks. All I am asking is for the rest of us not to be pussies.
