Went to Martin's Wine Cellar this week and got to talking to a few employees there. Not sure of the accuracy but I thought I would share:

Apparently, it's getting very hard to get your hands on certain Buffalo Trace bourbons. Part of this is by design to make themselves seem "exclusive" but part of it is due to a shortage of certain brands.

Certain Pappy's are starting to run out so BT is trying to make Blanton's the new "hard to get" bourbon. The Martin's rep said they get only 2 bottles a month in store and don't even get to put them out on shelves. They go directly to a waiting list. Weller is another one that is increasingly getting harder to find. They may get 5 bottles a month.

I work at a bar in the city I can admit that it's VERY hard to order any Buffalo products right now; so there's that...

He also mentioned that if you're a fan of O.F Birthday Bourbon, try the Old Old Forester 's 1920. They have very similar mash bills. They did a blind taste test with some of their regulars at the store and many said they tasted almost identical. Again, this could have been to get me to just buy a bottle.
