I hope that it is like the scene in Contact when Jody Foster meets the aliens. They read her brain and show themselves in a scenic beach memory and in the form of her late father.

The aliens are aware of the traumatic experience and try to make it as "normal" as possible.

I guess I just hope that the people I love and miss are waiting on the other side.
