shite no do not teach that kid a breaking pitch. I worked under an ortho child specialist as a nurse for 6 years. Surgery, clinic, treatment, casting etc and I played college ball. That shite is a no go for kids that age. Shouldn't be doing that until their soft tissues and bones mature. You can do tons of harm to the growth plates and soft tissue. shite, you shouldn't even be teaching him to pitch. It's terrible on his arm... Dad and coach will have him needing tommy John bye the time he is 15.
If and only if.... You are going to "teach" him anything offspeed. Teach him a change. No abnormal motion other than the actual throwing motion which is actually abnormal in itself.
Not beating up on you, but how the hell are you teaching kids baseball and don't know this stuff?
