This is entirely too young to teach a kid to throw a curve ball. Teach him a cutter. I've been to multiple medical conventions about sports injuries where Dr. Andrews was the guest speaker. His opinion is they should AT LEAST be 14 before they start attempting curve balls but 16 would be better. It's a lot of strain on the ligaments and tendons in the elbow and it's better to have them as developed as possible before exposing them to so much torque.
