If it was legalized on a federal level they wouldn't outright legalize it, theyd just remove the criminal aspect of it. Notice the difference- i.e. one is stipulating that they won't punish you for having it, versus giving you permission to have it. The States would still be free to prohibit it or legalize it as they see fit. A great parallel is alcohol. States are free to raise or lower the age as they see fit- it's not a federal power.

The taxes generated would be astounding. It is a no brainer.

Legislating human behavior only creates more governmental intrusion on our daily lives and a black market, and the violence it produces.
