I'm an AT&T employee, Uverse tv is being phased out and no longer offered. AT&T hired hundreds of temporary employees a few years ago to rehab all the plant(copper cable in the 9 states(old Bellsouth area) for Uverse. Then in March 2014 they let every one of those employees go with no notice. 2 weeks later the $50 billion acquisition of Direct Tv was announced.
Basically, AT&T is trying to get rid of copper used services. We are in the midst of a huge fiber to the curb by 2020 deadline. We're nowhere close but we'll be there by 2025.

Interdasting. I figured they had to be leaning towards DirecTV with how much they've been pushing it almost exclusively on their website.

I was thinking of moving to Uverse. Any idea how this move is going to affect those customers? Are they slowly going to get shittier and shittier product before being forced to move to DirecTV? Should I just stay with DirecTV?

I'm not sure what they're telling customers, AT&T has been so bipolar the last several years. They leave us employees out to dry mostly. Uverse tv was getting great reviews and I was excited to eventually get it. I'm not sure how long they're going to provide Uverse to areas that already have it.
Right now they are offering AT&T wireless customers unlimited data if you have direct Tv as well.

I will say this, AT&T has really hooked us up with employee discount.
50% off wireless
$10 a month for Direct Tv

They're setting us up for something I just know it haha
