I'm having a hard time understanding your post, but Allen and Garnett were both acquired via trade.

Garnett and Allen were traded to the Celtics. Neither player signed with the Celtics as a free agent. The Celtics were also one of the worst teams in the NBA at the time so it's unlikely either player would have signed with them if they had been on the open market.
