Not really shocked tbh

Another casualty of the talent there at LSU. I think this kid was a good WR coming out of the Houston area. He would have been better off going to a Houston or Rice.

Who's upchurch?
Oh nothing much.
Wait...did I do that wrong?

As with Quinn and Diarse, just not enough footballs to go around.
Wish him the best.

As good as Dee, Jazz, and Sullivan look, that's completely understandable. He'll be a playmaker elsewhere.

He was overweight as a wideout and kind of slow. He came in at 235 being only 6'1 . Then he was moved to a TE/H Back role. Eventually he couldn't progress there and was moved to fullback. He couldn't get the blocking down and was passed by everyone in that department. I wish some players would take responsibility and keep it real. I wasn't good enough, I could have done some things better. I need to reevaluate my situation and get it in where I fit in.

I said in my post he would have been better off at a Houston or Rice because his talent level suits schools like that. LSU gets the best of the best. Most of their WR's wind up in the NFL even though some have had lackluster careers at LSU from playin in terrible offenses. Their talent is too great even for the NFL to ignore. But I don't know why LSU recruited him at all because he was an okay(3 star) WR in HS in Houston and LSU has signed some second tier WR's out of LA HS that are equal if not better than a Upchurch.

Not really surprising. I think Sonny or Shea hinted at this in the last week.
I think with Upchurch transferring we have to lose just 1 more to make it to 85.

I don't blame him. Thought Russell Gage would leave but I guess since he is from Baton Rouge he is content with his role

We only had 1 player leave early for nfl

I always thought he looked more like a RB in his HS film, which is why I thought the FB move was a good one. Hate to see anyone leave, but this is probably best for him.

Do we expect it will be one of the kickers?

Definitely not, they are all playing this year or a true freshman who will redshirt.
Gamble will kickoff, Growden is punting, Ferguson is long snapping...Delahoussaye is backing up Domingue. Culp is just a true freshman and will redshirt. Domingue is graduating after this season as is Delahoussaye.

Seems like a lot of placekickers among the 85. That's all I'm saying.

Well Gamble is a kick off specialist, not a place kicker. He doesn't have the accuracy to be one.
Domingue and Delahoussaye are the place kickers and both are seniors. Culp is expected to take over for them next year so good to get him in now makes sense to get a year in rather than start a walk on or true freshman next year. Domingue isn't a scholarship player btw (honestly i'd feel slighted if i was him, considering he's ahead of Delahoussaye who has a scholarship).
Ferguson is a long snapper, the only scholarship long snapper, and Growden is a punter, the only scholarship punter.
Nothing really strange in that except maybe have a scholarship kick off specialist
