Hasn't Ruby also competed a DTY? I hope that also translates into another 10 SV vault for us!

ETA: I had no idea Edney does a Hindorf!!!

She she does.

Ruby does some pretty difficult vaults. She needs to work on her landing a little but I think the staff can clean things up.

Edney has some spectacular release moves.

Our bars will be amazing next season.

Zamardi can be really good on bars but I hope we change her dismount. Her scores are always much lower since she can't stick it usually. I think changing her dismount will raise her score.

If I am not mistaken Cannamela is working on another vault.

Kate was training a 1 1/2 on a recent video that LSU posted. Another 10 start value that we may see next year! Kate won the title on bars at the 2015 JO national championship. I wonder if we could see her compete next year on bars as well?

We try to make a few meets a year. We were all around our TV on Saturday night watching that meet finish. That was fun to watch everything unfold. Not knowing till the last couple minutes who was going to win or not.

Not knowing until looking at this thread that a lot of our major contributors are frosh-soph.. they look strong for next year!

I've always wondered about Zamardi's dismount. Perhaps she needs a forward landing one because of Achilles issues...I still can't get over that she switched to using grips in college...that's just amazing to me...

Can't wait till next season already. I'm sure the girls are ready for a break and to get healthy, but I'm wanting to be in St. Louis already

Could you link the video? I had heard she was training another vault, wasn't sure which one though.

Bars will be pretty tight next year. There will only be two spots open. Harrold is almost a lock for that first spot. She is crucial piece for us getting amazing bar scores.

The second bar spot will be between Cannamela and Edney. Cannamela was known for her bar work coming out of JO level. Edney has gotten really good on bars the past few years. We likely will see both of them. Edney has some incredible release skills, and for the most part does a good job on her landings. Cannamela has amazing technique and has a super clean look which is very attractive to judges. I am excited to see both, and hopefully we can change Zamardi's dismount. Judges are much stricter with some of these landings.

Cannamela I think is training the 1 1/2 as well. I think that is a 10 start value.

I don't have a link to the video, but I've seen it too, and in it Bob mentions Szafranski and Cannamela training 1.5s...and yes that's a 10.0 SV.

It may have been the "Inside LSU Gymnastics" episode with the feature on Bob.

Last year she stuck that dismount multiple times. This year, none. I have to think that if they could change it they would. She doesn't appear to have the swing to get around a double layout. I don't know that she could learn a full in or out at this point and as you said, the landing may be an issue. Did she have a double tuck or pike in her FX? I know she opened with a double arabian and ended with a Rudi but can't remember her 2nd pass. Maybe she should just do a full into a double tuck? Not a ton of difficulty but she is so clean and it would be a 10 SV. I wouldn't put her in the anchor spot but she shouldn't be there anyway.

And maybe next year LSU should put in a routine or two on FX that is super clean but without the big E passes. Macadaeg and Finnegan come to mind. Oklahoma was scoring 9.9s with super clean but easier tumbling and those girls would fit in perfectly in their floor lineups. Maybe we should beat them at their own game sometimes.

The most obvious vault upgrade to me would be Hambrick. Her technique is absolutely perfect. Maybe they stick with the full because they know she can score 9.9 with it but if she could train and begin competing the 1.5 next season then by the post-season it could be a great event for her.

Myia definitely is capable of more difficult vaults. Pretty sure she is training another vault as well.

Finnegan is such clean gymnast. Her technique is phenomenal that gives you such an elite look. She is capable of putting up big scores but I thought her floor routine had a lot going on in it, she was quite exhausted by the end. I know we love to throw a lot of difficulty out there but I think we need a routine that isn't big on the difficulty. I was astounded how OU got away with floor routines with not much difficulty, yet kept getting extremely high scores. Seems like we get penalized more then we get rewarded for the difficulty.

I think the transfer Lauren Li could give us a splash on beam. She is a great talent as well.

Does Li also compete bars? Would be nice to have one more person to choose from in case of an injury or someone like Zamardi not pulling in the 9.9s you expect.

I thought Macadaeg would do bars, since she's a former elite who qualified to Nationals...I have fuzzy memories of a jaeger...

ETA: also Tkatchev, Pak, toe shoot, full-in dismount... handstands need some polishing but Clark is the Bars Whisperer

Macadaeg is vastly underrated to me. She can have some spectacular floor routines. She is not going to be on bars anytime soon.

Harrold, Edney, Cannamela will all see most of the time on the two open rotations. What is special about all of them is they are all capable of putting up high 9.8 scores as well as scores over 9.900.

Edney when she hits will definitely get some high scores. She is currently working new skills on bars right now so I am curious what she will do when she gets here.

I had the chance to see Cannamela in practice on bars not long ago and I was very impressed with her bar work. She looks much different to when we did see her a little earlier in the season. Her handstands are much better. Her lines look cleaner, her release move is done beautifully. For the most part she stuck her landings.

I can't tell you how excited I am to watch Ruby Harrold here on bars. She is capable of so many things, if you watch her routines its incredible. Her release moves are incredible. She can do so much difficulty. I see her coming in and doing probably the most difficult bars routine in the lineup. I am curious on what Jay wants to do with her landing.

As for floor, Priessman needs to be out there if she is healthy. While her bar work is amazing, she was known for her difficult vaults and amazing tumbling competing in the elites.
