Preemptive response to the honeymoon threads. This place is incredible. Pictures, reviews, and comments below.

We stayed in one of these:

About 30 yards from the beach. They have beachfront condos too.

Never saw more than 25 or 30 people while we were there, very secluded.

Flights from Nola from my trip were about $1,800. In total the trip ended up being about $5,500 to $6,000 I think. I know it sounds douchey to say price but just trying to give as much insight as I can.

That house on the left on the cliffside is Georgio Armani's beachhouse, if that tells you anything about seclusion, etc.

It was mainly older folks there, which made it a nice quiet, secluded environment.

Like I said, I really can't say enough good about this place. I can't wait to go back one day.

Here are some photos I took while I was there:

View of the beach from the bar just before dinner.

A little blurry, but pic of the resort beach from our airplane flying out of Antigua.

Another one from the airplane you can see the beach in the back:

The bar in the evening. Somewhat the central location of the whole resort:

People relaxing on the desk outside the bar before dinner.

We went to Antigua for a wedding a couple of years ago. Sandals was not my cup of tea, but after the wedding, we headed south for English Harbor for a couple of days. It was great for a one time visit, but no desire to return. We saw all there was to see.

I'm really interested in this place for my honeymoon, but it seems more expensive to get there.

Spent a week at Galley Bay in 2014.

My only complaints were the lack of beach/pool service for drinks and wearing pants at night.

My wife and I got married in March and booked our flights the previous June, I believe, and it was about $1,800 for the two of us to fly round trip, so yeah it is a little pricey. We stayed in the Guaguin Cottage (spelling?), and it was awesome. Has a little private pool. If you are looking for a secluded place to drink and have amazing food, this is it. I can't rave about it enough. We were looking to just relax and stuff, but they have activities available if you're into that. We did the catamaran trip around the island one day and that was a lot of fun.

Yeah it stinks having to get up off the beach to go get your drink, but what I have done on subsequent trips is bring one of those big Tervis tumblers or a Yeti or whatever insulated cup, and get them to make my drinks in that. They last longer and you get more quantity.

The bride and groom had to be on the island 3 days before the ceremony per island laws. They missed their flight out of New Orleans and they had to wait till the next day to fly out, flights to a lot of those small islands are really limited. BTW: They were able to get married regardless.

Right now I'm considering Galley Bay or Excellence - Punta Cana.

I have heard great things about both and I can really only attest to Galley Bay, but I will say that lots and lots of people go to Punta Cana, and not many go to Antigua, but not in a bad way. It is because a lot of people haven't heard of Antigua and a lot can't afford it (I apologize, as that sounds super tacky). For me, I was very willing to pay a premium to get away from people for the honeymoon. Galley Bay gave us that, and I will never forget going there. This place was top notch and the service was fantastic.
