Several times? I mean, really?
It's not far fetched. I was at Pope AFB years ago when we all were put on lock down because of a domestic shooting at Bragg. No one ever used the term active shooter. That is a new age terror media hype terminology, but could have been considered one in today's use of it.

The shooting occurred on Medina-annex/Lackland AFB, TX. This is the side where we train our TACP, SERE, CCT and PJ trainees. I lived on that side and worked for several years up to one year ago. It is a heavily wooded area and we train live fire everyday.
