quote:

The Left controls the cultural high ground, The Institutions (in this case LSU) and they find your principles, traditions and ideals to be loathsome and contrary to their Social Project. "Kids" drinking "irresponsibly" at "bizarre social events". Sounds highly DANGEROUS. We must CONTROL this behavior. We must save these children from themselves so that we can indoctrinate them successfully with our far better system.

You know that temperance and cultural homogenization are more conservative ideals than they are liberal ones, right? In fact, the tenets of cultural liberalism would abolish drinking regulations rather than strengthen them.

I get that we're all pissed about the prospect of curtailing one of our most proud and enduring positions. But why do you have to make it into a political statement?
Not everything you disagree with has to be made into a rallying cry against the "_____ establishment."

You can disagree with things based on the merits, or lack thereof, of the ideas rather than attacking them as some great conspiracy to advance a political agenda.

Basically what I'm saying is, this is a shite idea. So talk about the general shittiness of the idea and its potential harmful effects rather than making it political just because there's an election on.

If your argument is that there is nothing more "illiberal" than modern day American Liberalism, we agree. If your argument is somehow that modern American liberalism is somehow the bastion of individual freedom and individual responsibility, you couldn't be more wrong.

The American Left took a wrong turn decades ago. It has now fully embraced Social Justice Warrior activism on our college campuses. And their control of these Institutions is now complete and they can behave as the arbiters of Individual morality and behavior with impunity. They are modern-day, finger-wagging MORALISTS-every bit as much as any Pentecostal preacher, except they have the full weight of The State behind them.

It may make you uncomfortable to connect the dots
. But Social Justice Warrior Illiberalism is a dire threat to traditional perception of what the mission of college is,and our general way of life. It is modern American Liberalism (the precise opposite of the 18th Century American Liberalism that our country was founded on) that is currently working overtime to institute Speech Codes, safe spaces, and otherwise INFANTILIZE college students. American Conservatism has NOTHING to do with that except, screaming at these liberal wankers to quit destroying all our existing Institutions, principles, traditions and ideals.

I understand that some people discount anything that smells of ideology because they are sick of The Culture Wars, but for frick's sakes-this has the fingerprints of the Social Justice Warrior Left all over it. And every year they grind down college students a little bit more, to the point that many of our best Universities have been reduced to shrill and hysterical breeding grounds of illiberal, close-minded shite-stirrers who are far like modern-day Salem with-hunters, rooting out "evil" under every fricking rock. And now that rock has extended to LSU tailgating. Everything about this IS political. This IS Left-wing strident moralist politics. Just because you don't want it to be about Leftist politics, doesn't mean that's exactly what this is. This is standard edition SJW, do-gooder-bullshite, and fully compatible in every way with their disastrous Cultural Marxist bullshite. frick them and frick anybody who gives them cover.
