That's the SOLE reason for this. Preemptive liability protection. Freshman Mike gets hammered at a tailgate and does something stupid to hurt himself. 3 months later, Mike v. LSU is filed. Or Jennifer drinks her weight in jungle juice and ends up being the "crossbeam" in an "eiffle tower" at El Cid. After she gets off the phone with Rolling Stone, she contacts the lawyer to discuss suing LSU for allowing and/or promoting a culture of binge drinking and sexual assualt. We live in a society with an ever diminishing sense of self accountability for our own dumb decisions. LSU is just trying to protect themselves
