What do I do?
HDD I have now is a 2Tb 5400rpm Seagate, replacing with a 3Tb 7500rpm drive for storage and a 250gb ssd.
Should I install 3tb amnd clone 2tb to it, then copy os to ssd? Is there a system function or program for this?
I have most of the 2tb backed up on my network cloud, but wanted to get everything off of it first then hook up the ssd.
It's all in a tower and I have the 2 extra sata slots.

Is your current HDD partitioned? If not, that's the first step.
Ideally, you want to have your OS on the SSD and all your files on the HDD. I think I used EASUS to clone/move my OS from my HDD to the SSD. However, the partition you are moving cannot be larger in size than the destination.

I put all three harddrives in the tower, set the old one to be boot. Windows wont start, tried system resotore and nada. I had seven and took the free upgrade to ten.
So now, I'm just going to say "frick it" start over with a fresh 10 install on the ssd, then move the files I want from the old drive and reinstall the exe's I want.
Basically I'm just going to do it the hard way.

Probably for the best. It's usually not a good idea to clone a failing drive (which may have some corrupted data).
