Well since you said Louis Prima yeah, I knew which version you meant.

Besides, I always assume that when a person says "Oh I love the original" in reference to an adapted work they are actually talking about whatever movie they grew up watching on TV and probably don't realize it's likely also a remake. (this is especially true with Disney flicks)

It was the same thing with Ben Hur. Half this board thinks the Charlton Heston version is the original when it's such a shameless remake they straight up copied the final chariot race nearly shot for shot from the 1920s version.

Hell, it happened also when Oz came out. People were bitching that you can't remake a classic and pretty much nobody realized the musical with Judy Garland was like the 4th time it had been made.
