ah yes, the "youth" excuse. Yet again. Doesn't fly much in basketball. Just doesn't.

Basketball doesn't require the physical development of the body that football does, and the "playbook" is certainly far less complex. 18 year old guys can step in and dominate day-one in basketball. Anyone who knows the sport knows this.

Yes, but players constantly improve in basketball just like any sport. If you look at any players career stats at any level, you will notice that he improves as he gets older up to the prime of their career.


99.9% of players will be better at basketball at 22 years of age compared to 18 years of age.

What about Andre Drummond? Andrew Bynum?

If Shaq had left after year 1, he would have likely been average at best his first couple years too.
