I think that you're asking how much income are the 1099 folks making?

Some ~$50-75k, some well into the high six figures. I would imagine the big earners have this covered, though we never talk about it. Curious for them too, though.

Solo 401k allows for a max contribution at a lower income than a SEP allows. For that reason, I would be in the Solo 401k camp here.
