I don't think you can actually be the godfather if you aren't catholic. I don't think they made a legit offer to you. Going to the baptism and all those ceremonies is kind of the entire point of being a godparent.

Eta: here's a faq about the requirements. You don't qualify.

Eta2: also, all you godparents in here who use condoms or have an SO who uses the pill or personally use the pill are breaking the rules and not qualified for the responsibility.

Yes.

Catholics welcome people if all faiths. Can't take communion or be a godfather though.
