I guess something like this gave me hope......
Might have to save up a little more though. Where's the best place to look for these used computers?

That's what he's selling it for. He said he built it for over $1800.

On one hand, he says he is "Only selling it to fix his car" but then says he will trade for four wheeler or dirtbike.
Something smells a tad fishy to me.
Ive looked into trying to build a cheap gaming rig. Your best bet is to buy a refurbished computer with the right motherboard, and then upgrade the cpu, ram, and graphics card. There are tons of websites selling them. You'll just have to hunt till you find a ddr3 motherboard worth having. Specifically, one you can put 16gigs of ram into.
DDr4 would probably push it out of your price range, even though it would be preferred.

This is a very similar build to my gaming pc that I built 5 years ago. Same CPU which is very good for overclocking. My i7-2600K is overclocked to 4.3Ghz on air cooling and is more than powerful enough for any games still today.
I'm assuming you want to play graphics intensive modern games. That GTX 670 video card is a bit dated (must be typo 670m is laptop version). My original build had a GTX 500 series card. I upgraded to a GTX 770 a couple years ago. With my 1680x1050 monitor, I've been able to play most games at high settings with solid 50-60 fps including The Division open beta a couple weeks ago.
I just bought a new 1440p gsync monitor so I had to upgrade my video card again and got a GTX 980 Ti. This should last me another few years.
If you stick with a 1080p monitor then you can get away with a cheaper video card like a GTX 970. Next generation of Nvidia cards are due at end of year which should be even more powerful and the current cards will get cheaper.
If you want to build something new take a look at:

The thing with PC gaming is that you have to plan to upgrade your video card every few years if you want to keep up with the latest games and not sacrifice graphics quality. I prefer to buy more expensive cards as they typically will last longer.
Unless you do what I did and get a new monitor with double the number of pixels.
