It's my understanding that on undefined width R/W's basically they have the width they've maintained.

This is correct if it goes through the woods but a cane field or pasture it is a different matter, there is no maintained width. A new agreement should be negotiated.

That's generally the case. There have been some court cases where judges have rendered quirky interpretations of what an unspecified R-O-W width should be. Again, it can vary in different jurisdictions.
