Not to knock the guys at all,as they committed to play at Lsu and are now part of Tiger Nation. But the expectations of these guys need to be tempered a bit ,gaudy juco numbers doesn't always translate to the next level for instance

John Odo in juco 12.4 pts 14.3rbs (juco leader) 4.6 blks (3rd in nation )

John Odo at lsu 1.3 pts 1.1 blks.

LINK

Deng Deng A former lsu commit that played at the same juco as Reath who would later sign with Baylor

Deng Deng in juco 19.8 pts 11rbs 3.5 assists

Deng Deng at Baylor 2.9 pts 2.0 rbs
LINK

Then there is josh gray who averaged 34.7 in juco and 6pts a game at lsu

I don't think tempering expectations for basketball will be an issue moving forward.

Weve had some good jucos like Marcus Thornton. This works both ways.

Elite high school basketball is a higher level of competition than JUCO. I don't think the expectations need to be tempered because they couldn't be much lower. I think everyone is expecting to be near the bottom of the SEC next year.

its the system. Josh scored his arse off at Texas Tech. Jones wanted him to be a pass first guard which he never was. Even in high school he was scorer. He's best effective in an up tempo or pick and roll based system

I guess I was just expecting him to have a better shot.

He must have scored all his points in transition or driving to the basket.

He never had any semblance of an outside shot at LSU.

For josh Gray to average 34 pts a game in JUCO he must have been playing against 5 short white guys and made all his points on layups.... I don't know where the missing link was with him @ LSU.....

I agree. We need these guys to be Thornton and Jabari Smith but that's asking a lot.

Ole Miss has done a good job adding JUCO scorers Moody and Henderson. They got some out there. Hopefully these guys can contribute. LSU needs to really shake the branches looking for graduate transfers that can make an instant impact.

Well don't!! Simply google him at Lee College or you tube and see for yourself!! I think you'll be cautiously optimistic!!. I thought the very same thing until I decided to check out these guys. Reath has a huge wingspan, can block shots and can even step out and make a shot or two. Jenkins can get to the rim and finish albeit against juco competition and Kieran Hayward appears to be a poor man's Grayson Allen AND Skylar Mays is a REAL point guard!!!(pass first, floor general) Didn't check out Wayde Sims yet. I'm thinking we may be okay because we could have better chemistry, a rim protector and some one to effectively feed the post!!! Still need better coaching though
