Hypothetically if we had restructured him, who would have you signed who's currently off the market?

Then ask yourself, based on the deal they received, if we could have gotten a good return on that contract?

The answer to almost all of those is no, which is why good teams tend to sit out the first portion of free agency and mostly resign their own players.

This. Keep guys in house that know our system and let them get used to it. Look at most of the teams in the playoffs last season. Green Bay, Arizona, Carolina, New England, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, etc. They've all been extremely quiet in free agency and it's because no free agent is a sure thing. Just look at Miami and Ndamukong Suh. Paid him over $100 million and where did the Dolphins rank?

Now on the flip side, look at the Broncos who after their humiliating loss to Seattle went out and brought in every name they could. Now, it did work and they won a ring but look at the mass fallout they're taking for it.

Manning gone
Osweiler gone
CJ Anderson gone
Owen Daniels and Vernon Davis gone
Vasquez and Mathis gone
Malik Jackson gone
Danny Trevathan gone

On top of that, they've got no money to re-sign their guys and Mark Sanchez is now their starting QB going into next season. Keep in mind too, that the only reason Von Miller is still around is because of the tag and DeMarcus Ware took a paycut.
