Does it really matter? No matter what type of glass you use it's going to get cracked the first time some dickhead in a dump truck starts slinging rocks all over the interstate.

Yes, at least to me and my family since the windshield is a major part of the roof support structure of your vehicle and good glass will not chip/crack as easy as cheap crap.
