As much as you want people to believe this, it will never happen. NIT = shitty basketball teams.
In a world filled with one and done freshmen, college basketball is already littered with a lot of oddly constructed rosters. The NIT sucks.

The bottom 10 teams in the NIT are usually automatic qualifiers themselves.
So yeah, this is just a painfully incorrect statement.
