It also helps seeing them go in from that range as opposed to practicing 15 footers and missing most of them.
Ummm... is 15 feet not automatic for y'all? I'd say I make 75% from that distance (assuming it's not some weird Augusta National type break or painfully slow)
That said my dad always practiced/practices putting and the short game. He started playing when I was 5, and I never took a full swing until I was 12. So putting is by far the best aspect of my game. I legitimately can't remember the last time I had more than one three putt in a round.
That said, Everything outside of 100 yards is what gets me. I can hit my irons pretty consistently, and can drive the ball 250-275, but the odds of that being in the fairway, or even a fairway isn't great.

[quote]Putting Statistics
PGA's Shot Tracker reveals that tour players on average make:
99% of putts from 3 feet and in
69% of 6-foot putts
54% of 8-foot putts
31% of putts between 10 and 15 feet

the best putters in the WORLD make 31% of putts from 15 feet.
If you make 75% of putts from 15 feet you are the greatest putter in the history of the game.

PGA Tour 2015, Putts inside 15 ft:
Jason Day 80%
Jordan Speith 82%
Projecting your estimated conversion % (75%) to the total number of putts within 15 feet for Jason Day (148) in 2015, you would have only been 8 strokes behind due to putting from the FedEx Cup Champion.
