I guess I just don't understand it when the RP comes in in the 8th. If I remember correct he came in for the bottom of the 8th. Wouldn't the "Save" opportunity come in the 9th?

It didn't have any bearing on my side, I guess I just don't understand it.

Save/Hold situation can be in any inning.

It's one reason I don't like using S-BS... but that's the stat we go with.

And he stays in for the 9th he gets the save. Most managers use set up men/closers tho so the set up man have all the risk (BS) with none of the reward.
