Saw Pete and the team when I was in junior high... they came to the Rapides Parish Coliseum when Pete was a freshman or sophomore (don't remember - that was a long time ago) and I believe they were doing a state tour to show off Pete.
I kept a Pistol Pete scrap book of clippings that I cut from the Alexandria Daily Town Talk sports section and remember the picture of Pete taking the shot that broke the scoring record. Like my memory...those clippings are lost

Never saw Pete play but thanks for this great thread and everyone that posted in it. It's like a trip down lsu history and a salute to one of the greatest players ever.
