The biggest downfall of this team was health. In 4 years we never seen this team healthy play for long stretches. I agree Dell should have at least developed 1 rookie but if the team from day 1 were heathly and stay healthy we were a 2 round playoff team luring in big name FA.

The odds of the entire roster that Dell constructed staying healthy is miniscule. Evans and Gordon have always missed games. Jrue had a serious injury that Dell did not discover in due diligence during a trade. (I would be suspect of a team willing to unload a young all star). Asik is a 30 yr old big who was frequently injured (calf injuries, thigh injuries, unexplained swelling in knee) when we traded for him from Houston. Part of the reason Pondexter was on such a good deal is he has missed a season with a stress fracture in his foot and is injury prone.

Not only did Dell compile all of these players with injury histories and pray that they would all miraculously stay healthy, but he developed no young backups.

Healthy seasons aren't all luck.
