Oh yeah? I haven't seen anyone do it and succeed. Geaux has been doing it for 3 years and nothing has changed. And it took me 2 years to win the regular season and I've done it every year since. So you're 6 years assertion is inflation to help your point. They way I do it requires a little more patience but it can result in a much more sustainable team (if done correctly). That's my choice. It seems to have worked out in every league in which I implement it. Hell, it's become a prospect-palooza in all the leagues now and I used to get burned at the stake for grabbing minor league guys in a keeper league draft.
