The long travelling shot into the Copacabana...some stuff I did in Boogie Nights is compared a lot to that shot, which I obviously admire. But the funny thing is there have been so many shots like that. You can trace that back to Max Ophuls, doing these intricately long things, and obviously to what DePalma has done, but Scorsese was doing it first (of the modern directors).
