Josh Gray vs. Arkansas

Seems like Josh Gray plays better in the up and down style that Arkansas forces the opponent into. The last two games vs. Arky, Gray is averaging almost 13 pts, 5 asst, 1 turnover in 28 minutes of play. Let's see if Johnny puts him on the court.

With Hornsby out and TQ not caring last few games, the remaining 3 guards that get PT will get more this game by default.
Hopefully we will see Blakeney, Patterson and Gray more unless TQ decides he wants to make a positive contribution this game.

One of the biggest question marks to me is why Patterson has not gotten more playing time.
Type of guy that does not immediately jump out in any way, whether it be on the stat sheet or on the floor, but he does the little things and the +/- does not lie with him we have been better.
He has pretty long arms for a guy his size and is very active on the defensive end, and has never once taken a game or a play off. Its frustrating to see, because he is the type of glue guy that we should be playing with these other guys. He is also not a bad shooter, and obviously can handle the ball.
Season is not over, but let him play.

he also misses "wide open" layups, pretty regularly...!
i agree, he's athletic, but come on...you have to knock down open layups.
(i'm talking about Gray).

quote:Because our coach thinks that in-game coaching is overrated. If he could play the same 5 guys for all 40 minutes he would.

I don't know why no one else can see this. He is a highly paid spectator.

In those same two Arky games, Quarterman averaged almost 2 pts, 2 asst, and 2 turnovers in 19 minutes of play. He puts that up tonight and the season is a wrap.

Same. He should be starting.

Patterson was competing for minutes with Blakeney and Hornsby. Patterson does not have to look over his shoulder any more for the quick pull out the game if he missed a few shots with Hornsby hurt. With that being said Patterson should not press as much tonight as he has been doing in the last few games and should have a good night.
