Why? (and feel free to down vote).

Because we put too much focus on individual acheivement. On putting up statues and billboards and all this media bs.

Read up on the Chinese Bandits - all of them third stringers..

I keep seeing this and people act like everyone comes here because of Miles, yeah sure he is a great recruiter no doubt. But LSU is a fantastic university with great facilities and a great brand and rabid fan base... its not like its difficult to recruit here.. many other coaches can too.

Lighten up, Francis. Transitioning from home to college is a monumental step in any kid's life and I thought it was an awesome move by LSU to put up the billboards across the city welcoming them to campus.

And last I checked, we're not erecting statues of current players. If you have a problem with honoring our distinguished alumni, you should also wage a war on retiring jersey numbers and the PMAC, better yet, take it up with this guy...

I like how you ignored my point about the team that miles walked into, considering you made the team saban walked into a very important point that you needed to tell multiple posters about.

How convenient

LSU once it closes because of budget cuts, should just re-brand itself, and rename the university NYU. Next Year University.

God LSU fans are getting to be annoying. They are so spoiled that they assume they should win every year or win as much as Bama.

Nick Saban really owns LSU.

Talent, so since Bama has had the #1 rated class for last 6 years we should never beat them. In the SEC West you must take into consideration everyone has talent and your schedule and when you play someone is very important. Do you think Ole Miss would have beaten Bama the last two years if they had played week 10 or 11. Same could be said for A&M and Arkansas. Lots of things play a part other than just talent and coaching. Several years we have had really talented classed but lost most early to the draft. 2013 may have been a championship year if we had not lost so many JR's. Our Qb problems may have been different if RP had not gotten in trouble and we had to play talented youngsters before they were ready. Can call it excuses if you want.

Yeah because lack of talent and the ability to recruit has been his shortfall. Oh wait maybe that's discipline and offensive scheme, neither of which seemed to get much attention this off season.

It's like calling the fire department and telling them your house is on fire, but instead of putting out the fire at your house they spray water on your neighbor's house. I'm excited about the hires, but they don't fix the biggest flaw Miles has had.

Don't bring icky stuff up like Miles' glaring flaws! It's the offseason...everything changes for the better in the offseason including all of the crap EVERYONE bitched about in November last year. Shame on you!

Mikes walked into a team that had just lost 3 games. He walked into a program.
Saban's 2001 team is one of the mlst talented rosters in lsu history and he lost 3 games. Its also a fact that Miles coaches in a sec which is far harder. Hell saban won the west with 3 conf losses.

I really would like to know how you think Miles "kind of " kept it going.
Saban walked into a program littered with future nfl players and lost 4 games,3 games, 5 games,1 game, and then 3 games. Yet Miles has the best win % in the entire history of the program and yet he " kind of " kept what saban had going.

You're always wanting to tout our NFL pipeline....how many players from Piss are playing in the NFL right n

Do you even follow college football? Having or not having nfl talent doesnt always equal production at the collegiate level. Tebow may be the greatest sec qb ever and he cant make a nfl roster.

This chart is pretty and all but is basically an excuse.

You have to love the rant. Its the one of the only places where FACTS are considered excuses.

Bama has the best coach in modern cfb history and by far the most talent and they lose to an inferior team every year. They lost to the same ole miss team you say should never beat lsu

Then why did Saban lose 3 games in 2004 and mediocre Miles lost 2 games?
Also i didnt name all the nfl talent saban had when he walked in. Just the the big names.

Yes Miles walkd into talent but this notion that Miles walked into a top 5 program is utter bullshite.

4 losses in 2000
3 losses in 2001
5 losses in 2002
1 loss 2003
3 losses in 2004

In no way is that a top 5 program.

Our 2002 roster was as talented as any Miles team and we lost 5 games.

I am in favor of a coaching change if its a sure upgrade. I thought Jimbo would be an upgrade. That doesnt mean i have to shite on seasons where the players sacrificed for those results.
I just find it funny that you think Miles "kind of" kept things going when he has had the best tenure in lsu history.

He has 50 % of our title game appearances

This is true. You do realize that all of this would be a moot point if he hadnt shite the bed on 1/9.

We lost to the 2nd best bama team of all time.
People would still be bitching if we had won that game.
