I'm still pretty young and have been dislocated from Louisiana, to me it's home and probably always will be. I hope to get the opportunity to go back some day. Junior level IT/Infosec doesn't seem especially strong in Louisiana at the moment (I've applied around) so until I'm senior or even retiring I'm pretty out of luck for now
I wouldn't take what you have for granted. Politics aren't going to be perfect anywhere in the country no matter what people online will tell you. If you're even half serious on the weed matter, support with millennials for that is so strong it won't be long before it's legalized nationwide (Give it 10 years or so)
Don't take what you have for granted because sometimes in life there's no turning back, and you may not like what's on the other side if you don't take a careful look at what it actually entails
