My AT&T 24mbps is solid..and they have a 1000gb data cap that I never come close to reaching.

Currently have this. Might just retain it and drop Cable.

That depends heavily on your location. Hope it works out for you..mine is solid.

I'm in Metairie. Should be good

What are your interests in TV? Are you single? Married? Kids? I don't recommend Sling TV if you have a wife and kids

Why? My original concern was limiting to one device, but I thought they had a beta version now that allowed multiple devices?

TV interests are pretty small besides sports. This whole thing prompted when we were talking the other day. We pay $196 for basically just watching HGTV, news, She watches E, and Lifetime. Otherwise, it is just movies, Netflix, or piggy backing our SIL's HBO which we trade her for our Showtime.

The major reason I considered Sling is to have a dedicated sports option.

To be honest, Netflix is really dedicated and structured, but if you want to save some money, I think KODI will be a good replacement.

We do already have Netflix. I don't really factor that into the cost of cable equation since it is currently lagniappe for us.
I figured FireTV w/ Kodi would eliminate us having to piggy back the HBO plus still giving us access to Homeland and a few other shows we like on Showitme.

Forgot to mention we also have Prime so we technically have Amazon Video as well. We never use it because we just use our Apple TV. I don't think they are compatible, but I guess I could mirror videos from a phone or iPad.

Should be good in Metairie.

Sling has Lifetime but Playstation Vue doesnt. You should research Playstation Vue a little before you dive into Sling. You can actually try both out for free for a week.

both can be used on the Fire TV
