The All Star race is a welcome break from the grind of having to make picks each week. You can watch it for the pure fun of it without having to pull for anyone in particular except your favorite driver. It's also a great preview for what may be to come the next week since it will be at the same track and at night also. It could be somewhat deceiving though with the segmented format of the All Star race. With a 13 lap 'dash for the cash', anyone close to the front has a chance if they're set up right and with $1M on the line, look for some bumpin' and rubbin' if it's tight on the last lap or 2!
Just for fun, I'll pick some drivers I think will do well. Of course JGR is very strong this year and I think Kyle Busch will be there at the end. He has won 2 1.5 mile races this year and the only driver to be in the top five of all 4 1.5 mile races this year. Along with Busch, I would go with Edwards, Kenseth, and Johnson. I would include Harvick in there if it wasn't for the mandatory pit stop/tire change between segments 2 and 3 and the #4 pit crew hasn't helped their driver at all this year. That last pit stop should be a lot of fun to watch! There used to be no speed limit on pit road during this race, but I don't know if they will do that this year or not. Either way, it will be a drag race off pit road to get to the front for the final segment.
Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend and has fun watching the race!
