Why would you ever take a dynamic playmaker off of your offense to play on defense?

We moved Melvin Jones and Ronnie Feist from MLB to FB the last two years, so why not reverse when you are in dire need, and the guy did also play some LB in high school?

It seems every year some on these boards want to move a stellar offensive player to LB.

Fan being a fan.

In White's case it would be a tremendous waste ofhis talent. A RB like him doesn't come along often. A LB like him is average.

There are VERY few 5'11 250-260lb inside linebackers running in the 4.5s. Actually it would utilize his talent greatly considered a safety and LB moonlighted at RB at several schools to high success.

The only way you could waste White's talent at all, is by putting him at FB like they did year one with Ducre. We are, although, wasting White's talent early by keeping him at RB where he'd get 20 carries at most this year, and that's only if he jumped Brossette or Ducre or both. He looks like a big fast RB on his highlights, but his potential there pails in comparison to his potential at LB.

Beckwith is our only scholarship ILB. Our only one. The Garnett guy is likely the backup and a true freshman preferred walk-on, so I'd be more than scared to lose Beckwith at any point in time this year.
