I have done some pretty extensive research into Louisiana smallmouth bass reports. As far as I can tell they don't exist. There is one picture that looks like it was taken by a potato of a fish caught back in the 50s just this side of the AR border in the Ouachita river that could be a smallie but the picture quality is so poor its impossible to positively ID.

To quote a LAS Article on the Kisatchie:

And as far as making it down to harahan? While I suppose anything is possible, there's just no evidence supporting it.
