re: Recommend a Cable TV Signal Splitter/Booster

I would use a 2 port to get the strongest signal at the source. 1 to each splitter because you will lose about 7.5db through each splitter port. (3 or 4 way splitters)
Note: I don’t know if this is still the practice, but the cable companies used to send signal through the lines prior to a major pay per event to fry any chipped boxes. When they did this it often knocked out peoples amplifiers and they would complain. It was better to get one through the company since it fit their specs.

I recommend the Motorola Signal Booster with 1 in, 1 out, 15 dBMv gain, and for most installations, the passive return version. I've been using one with Cox, Motorola cable modems, and HDHomerun Prime for years. I also had a Cox DVR and non-Prime HDHomerun at one time. Having just the 1 out, this amp trades convenience for flexibility in choosing who gets the best signal when designing the splitter layout.
One thing concerning any amp, if you have a telephony modem for a landline and you want it to work during a power outage, put it in front of the amp.
