Yeh it makes no sense. We are allowing teams to help themselves by FOULING. To prevent this, the rules of basketball have the "intention foul" which allows you to shoot and retain possession. However, refs are not calling intentional fouls when they are clearly intentional. So really, if the refs just followed the actual rule book it would be fine

You realize teams can't foul ad infinitum, correct? Putting your players in foul trouble early in a game by fouling intentionally often can come back to bite you.
