Agree-- there is the Rant and then factions within-- overly negative and overly positive.

Can we talk about how the OP received a down vote? He posts a positive thing about LSU basketball, and it gets down voted . This place is hilarious

I think the committee would love to have us as an #11 seed to kick off the tournament on Tuesday night. It would the ratings they're hoping for.

And honestly, I don't think it would be a bad thing. It would be nice to get the opening round jitters out of the way by playing a lesser opponent.

tiger. i thought we got you straightened out in the other thread. i guess not

quote:

That reading comprehension again. LSU is listed

not on the bubble. you still don't know what "bubble" means in tournament vernacular

quote:

So not up to date
did you see my comment?

quote:

You realize that is a different bracket then you claimed as their bracket last time
you realize it doesn't matter? neither one are high on lsu.

quote:

Yet this was one of the ones that we were no where near it? How'd we move up if, by this logic
what does this even mean? lsu wins - they move up. not hard to figure out.

quote:

So is LSU in the conversation or not?
as i said before, winning 8 of 11 starts getting you into the conversation. but even someone challenged like you has to admit lsu is a complicated resume right now. well, i'm assuming you understand the issues with lsu's resume that i posted so, i guess i shouldn't make that assumption

quote:

Not to mention that Lunardi has been "more accurate"* than almost all of your guys in 3 of the last 4 years
he's still in the minority according to the bracket matrix sites i posted.

quote:

Bracket Matrix doesn't judge midseason accuracy
now you're making up things like "midseason accuracy?" the matrix assesses accuracy period. the point is, you are playing verbal gymnastics to prop up lunardi. tiger, lunardi was 36 on the list.

quote:

. Lunardi hasn't missed often (usually not at all) on teams getting in
neither have the sites i posted and they don't have lsu in.

Thank you kind sir! I am always trying to find a way to get my spirit up on this team and seeing that we are being considered a tournament team at the moment did just that for me!

So much for those #onhere saying we were nowhere close to the bubble and the mountain was insurmountable.

We're in ok shape, brothers. Just gotta keep winning 2 outta 3.

i never said lsu is not going to make it nor did i say they aren't going to win a tourney game. i am merely pointing out the difficulties that lsu has to overcome. there is a small crew who are not facing up to those issues. tommy, tiger, camp, etc.

lsu had to win 8 of 11 just to get within bubble range. they still have some serious obstacles to overcome. but the cult is still in the "relax, be patient" mode which is ridiculous. and when i point out the reality of the situation, i get called hater, miserable, petulant, etc. they don't want to deal with the facts. and then there's tiger who is a special breed altogether.

You've yet to define your bubble. Teams being considered for an at-large = bubble.

did you see my comment?

The one I quoted? No, I didn't see it. Let's use out of date information to make arguments. Sounds intelligent.

quote:

you realize it doesn't matter? neither one are high on lsu.

they have us within the next 8 of making the tournament with 12 games + the SEC tourney.

Guess that puts us in the conversation

quote:

what does this even mean? lsu wins - they move up. not hard to figure out.

Not according to you actually. I can quote it if you want.

quote:

now you're making up things like "midseason accuracy?" the matrix assesses accuracy period. the point is, you are playing verbal gymnastics to prop up lunardi. tiger, lunardi was 36 on the list.

no, the matrix doesn't judge accuracy, period. It judges accuracy based on the final bracket weighted towards seeding.

Let's also ignore sample size and all that jazz.

That isn't what you're using it for here, is it?

quote:

neither have the sites i posted and they don't have lsu in.

Do they have LSU "anywhere near"?

Have you learned what the term last four In means yet?

I get what you are saying B, "the cult" and you are the yin to the yang for the basketball team.

Yes, exactly, we have won 8 of our last 11, hence the relative sense of calm from the fanbase.

We just got our team back together and they proceeded to put together a nice stretch and show significant improvement.

Obviously there's very little room for error, but this team -- not the bastardized form from November, but THIS team -- is currently playing well and there's no reason to panic if we continue to take care of business on the court.

Have we we dug ourselves into a hole? You bet, but adding two starters back to the rotation plus having the best player in the country sure does make for a nice ladder.
