DIY Tie Down Kit For Coolers

Anyone made one for their ice chest? I have a 35 Engel and 65 Yeti I want to strap down in my boat. I just don't want to pay $40+ for a name brand kit.

$40 is not that much in the grand scheme of things. You are trying to tie down $1000 worth of ice chests after all

It would be about $100 for both and think there is a much cheaper option. If no one has down it before I will work something up and do a DIY thread on it.

Kennedy tie downs.

The yeti tie downs are just as good. Engel makes a kit that's pretty close to the same thing as Yeti. They are all about the same.

I feel like i can just buy some stainless hardware and a few straps and build these things for a lot cheaper. Just seems expensive to pay $50 to tie down a damn cooler, haha. I am going to the depot tomorrow and see what kind of hardware i can find. I will report back.
