Should have a magnetic drain plug, it may not tell the whole tale but it may give you a hint if there any kind of hard part damage.
If not most will have a magnet in the pan.

Actually I just looked I think you have to drop the pan to check the magnet. You may want to do that and change the filter and see if that fixes your problems. If not then prayers sent.
