I would say both points are somewhat valid. I personally don't think they should be dis-qualifiers for an offer, for any team.
Can't fix height. Is it absolutely necessary? Debatable.
With strict NCAA limits on practices and such, you can only do so much "project development" so maybe not spending time under center puts you behind the curve; but, slowing development would depend on the person (some are more coachable than others).

His coach says they run a lot of shotgun in games but they have him practice taking snaps under center to get him ready.
