Ok plain and simple. Which win helps RPI more.

Forgive me for my ignorance, but which split would be best for us from an RPI standpoint? Is a win against a Top 10 team and a loss against a team that may or may not finish in the Top 50 definitely better than a loss against a Top 10 team and a win against a borderline Top 50 team?

I'd imagine it is better to beat Texas A&M and lose to Alabama considering Alabama is a considerable foe this year, but I pose the question since I would think the tables would be turned if it was Texas A&M and Southern on the schedule this week. In that case I'd expect an A&M loss and a Southern win would be much better than the alternative.

I am not a 100 % sure the RPI would matter who we beat. The formula is a combination of winning percentage and SOS and it's the same regardless of how we go 1-1.

Now from a committee standpoint they care a lot more about good wins than okay losses or even bad losses. So given the choice, definitely want to beat the Aggies
