I have 50MBps, but i'll probably upgrade to 100.
The biggest issue i've read about is not being able to update the firmware b/c it didn't come directly from Cox. Any issues with that?

No issues, at least none that are significant. As long as it's on their "approved list", which the SB6141 and many others are, you'll get the updates they push. The only issue is that you're limited to whatever version Cox is using. If they are outdated, that's what you'll get.
